This site has one form and no accounts or advertising. We collect details from you through that form, the phone line and email. Your first name, general area and job description go to local fence companies, your contact details go to one of them, and a company may pay us, so please read who gets what below.
Who is responsible
VARS Digital, British Columbia, Canada, runs this site and its phone line. Privacy questions go to the Privacy Officer at varsdigitals@gmail.com.
What we collect
From the form: your name, phone number, email if you give one, your description of the work, and the date and time you sent it.
From a call: the number you called from, the date, time and length of the call, the recording of any voicemail and its written transcript. A message usually holds your name, phone number, email and a description of the service you need, plus whatever else you choose to say.
From an email: your address and what you write. From the website: our host processes standard connection data such as IP addresses when you visit. The site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising scripts.
What happens after a call
Calls go to voicemail. Leave your name, phone number, email and a description of the work you need. Messages are recorded and transcribed, and our call service provider, CallRail, processes them. We share your first name, general area and job description with a limited number of local fence companies, and the first to take the job gets your contact details and reaches out to you. Requests stay active for up to 30 days. We can't promise a company will take every job, so if it is urgent, contact a company directly.
Why we use it
To do what you asked when you left a message or sent the form: share your first name, general area and job description with a limited number of local fence companies, and give your contact details to the first company that takes the job. Leaving a message or sending the form is how you ask us to do that. We also use it to count calls and requests, to see whether the site is useful, to keep a record of what was asked and when, and to answer privacy requests.
Who gets it
- You leave a voicemail or send the form. Doing either one is how you ask us to do the steps below.
- We share your first name, general area and job description with a limited number of local fence companies. They do not get your last name, phone number, email or street address. We may quote what you said about the job, with any contact details and street address removed.
- The first company to take the job gets your contact details from us and reaches out to you by phone or email. This can take a few weeks.
- The other companies get nothing further.
Requests stay active for up to 30 days. We can't promise a company will take every job, so if it is urgent, contact a company directly. To have your request removed, email varsdigitals@gmail.com.
The company that takes the job gets your details for that request. It runs separately from us and handles your details under its own practices. A company may pay us to receive requests. We do not sell your details to list brokers or other marketers.
Our service providers: CallRail, our call service provider, records and transcribes messages and has access to them to process them. Cloudflare hosts this website, stores form requests and emails each one to our inbox. Our email provider holds that copy and handles our other email. These may be in Canada or the United States, so your details may be processed in either country and be subject to its laws. We may also disclose details where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep messages, transcripts, form requests and call logs for 12 months after we last used them, then delete them, or sooner if you ask and we have no legal reason to keep them. Form requests stored on Cloudflare expire automatically 12 months after they arrive, which can be a little sooner. If you ask us not to contact you or not to pass on your details, we keep your number and the date on a do-not-contact list for 5 years so we can honor that.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete what we hold, to have your request removed, or to tell us not to pass it on, email varsdigitals@gmail.com. If your details have already gone to a company, we cannot make it delete its copy, but we will tell you which company has it so you can ask it directly.
If you are not happy with how we handled your details, tell us first. You can also complain to British Columbia's Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
Tracking
We do not let third parties track you across other sites from this one. Because of that, a Do Not Track signal changes nothing here.
